A dishonest employer is one of the greatest fears of any job seeker. Unfortunately, nowadays the labor market is full of scammers whose main objective is to earn money in any way. A lot of managers enjoy by the vulnerable situation of the candidate, especially if he/she is searching for a job for quite along time. In this article we will discuss the most commondeception schemes in order to help you avoid dubious deals and not fall for the scam.
The scheme №1: Charge for Employment
One of the most common deception schemes, especially among recruitment agencies, is the demand for payment for the information that may help find a job. The company promises successful passing of the job interview, but does not give any guarantees that you will be offered for a post. Actually dishonest organizations do not cooperate with employers and provide a list of vacanciesthat are for free access on theInternet.
As a rule such agencies are very difficult to prosecute. In fact, the client paid money voluntarily and probably has no confirming documents. Often these companies do notexist for a long time as they cease their activity and disappear with the money of job seekers. Services of real recruitment agencies are to be paid only by the employer.
The scheme №2: Payment for Product Samples
The second common variant of deception: the company invites the candidate to pass the job interview and offer to purchase product samples. Employer explains that there is a necessity for such purchase because the candidate must be aware of company products. In other cases the further cooperation is impossible. The next step is quite predictable: the candidate receives a rejection to be employed and the organization refuses to returnfunds.
Remember that honest and serious organizations do not require money or other material rewards from job seekers and do not offer to pay expenses for any documents and services.
The scheme №3: Free of Charge Work
Jobseekers should guard that the vacancy of the company which offers a good position with high wages remains open for a long period of time. In fact, this practice has become very popular among scammers and dishonest employers. The scheme is quite simple: during the job interview or through e-mail the candidate receives an offer to perform 1-2 tasks that allegedly will help determine the level of preparation and professional qualities. Simple arithmetic shows that if the work is performed by at least 20-30 people a day, the company will have enough material andthe level of expenditure will remain unchanged.
It is very difficult to declassify such scams because some of the posts (e.g. copywriters, journalists or editors) really require the performance of test tasks to check the skills ofa candidate and the quality of work. However, we strongly recommend you to look for the information about a potential employer via the Internet and specialized websites.
The scheme №4:"Additional" Employees
Continuously open vacancy may also mean that the employer is looking for job seekers in order to create or expand the base of potential candidates in the case of dismissal of company employees. Many directors and managers practice this variant to simplify the task in the future and to reduce time for finding a suitable person. It is practically impossible to define such a scheme, especially in large firms.
In any case, do not be upset: an invaluable experience and acquired knowledge will help to behave more confidently on other job interviews.
The scheme №5: The Chargefor Training Courses
A large number of fraud firmsoffer to pay for training courses and to buy educational materials before your formal employment.
Stay alert: practically in all cases good companies carry out education and additional courses only at their own expense.
Moreover, managers are interested that the employees get more knowledge and skills as most of them are convinced that the professional and qualified specialist is the key to the future success of the organization.
Scheme №6: Free Probationary Period
Free of charge labor is a very old type of fraud that is widely used by the employers. The essence of the scheme relies in the fact that after the successful passage of the job interview the employee is offered to undergo probationary period to become familiar with future duties (usually 1-2 months). Depending on the results the manager will decide the final decision on the employment. The main nuance - the time and efforts spent are not paidby the employer.
Needless to say, that after the completion of the probationary period the person is rejected to be employed. The main reason is that the candidate allegedly fails to meet the requirementsof the post.
If you have received such an offer and have any doubts, it is worth knowing that any work must be paid in accordance with the Nigerian Labor Act. It is better to sign the employment contract before the performance of duties

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is wary of newly promoted Hull dampening celebrations on his Stamford Bridge homecoming.
The Blues host Steve Bruce's side in Mourinho's return to the Barclays Premier League on Sunday, with the Chelsea boss putting his 60 match unbeaten run in the English top flight to the test.
''I don't like to play against teams that come from the lowerdivision, because when they come they come with a fantastic mentality,'' Mourinhosaid.
''They come as winners, they come as a team that week after week is winning matches and winning points.
''It's different to a team that survives in the Premier Leagueon the last day, they come with a fantastic attitude.''
Mourinho gave Manchester United counterpart David Moyes' complaints over the fixture schedule short shrift this week, but his Blues side could go to Old Trafford on August 26 in a healthy position, as they also play Aston Villa next Wednesday.
''It's always a difficult start,'' Mourinho said. ''We have to play two days after against Aston Villa, after that we have to go to Old Trafford, so our start is a very difficult one.''
Chelsea won the title in Mourinho's first two seasons in charge - 2004-05 and 2005-06 - before his September 2007 departure.
The first triumph brought Chelsea's first championship in 50 years.
''The first title we didn't start well, we lost against Man City (in October),'' Mourinho said.
''We were second. I rememberwe only came to the top of theleague when we won at West Brom and Arsenal played that same fixture.
''The second season we started very, very strong.
''We have to try to win, but there are people that say that a bad start is better than a good start. Of course, I prefer to start good. But the start is difficult.''
Mourinho, who has summer signings Andre Schurrle and Marco van Ginkel pushing for debuts, is well aware he will be the centre of attention on Sunday, with a rapturous reception anticipated from thehome fans.
However, he hopes the supporters' energy will be used to encourage those on the pitch, rather than in the dugout.
''Our people is great in the sense of loyalty to the people that have given something to the club in the past, but I thinkthey have to focus on this game, this competition, try to make Stamford Bridge a tough place for everybody to play and make my people feel at home,'' he said.
Mourinho has changed in his near six-year absence from the Premier League, but his desire for success remains.
He added: ''DNA is the same, but I think people change. I feel myself in permanent transformation. You learn, youtry to improve.
''Of course I'm more mature, I have, I don't say a different personality, but a different way of prioritising things in life and in football.
''I feel myself very confident, very stable, with great maturity. (But) my nature doesn't change

Arsene Wenger can't bear to watch as Arsenal crash against Aston Villa. Th
The Gunners were beaten 3-1 by Villa, the start to the campaign that manager Arsene Wenger did not want as pressure continues tomount over a lack of new signings in North London, with not one penny of their transfer war chest yet spent.
Arsenal did make the perfect start when Olivier Giroud put Arsenal infront after six minutes, producing a great finish following great work from Alex Oxlade Chamberlain down the left.
But Arsenal were pegged back just 16 minutes later, with Christian Benteke heading in the rebound after his penalty was saved by Wojciech Szczesny, who looked to have redeemed himself after bringing down Gabriel Agbonlahor for the spot-kick.
Santi Cazorla was on the bench at the start of the game after being in Ecuador with Spain in midweek, but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger threw on the Spaniard immediately after half time.
The pressure mounted on Villa as Giroud twice went close to doubling his tally, and Tomas Rosicky engineered an opportunity to get into the box but failed to test Brad Guzan in the visitors' goal.
Fabian Delph almost gave Villa the lead against the run of play, but Arsenal survived when his shot bounced back off the post. Moments later though, Arsenal conceded a second penalty after Laurent Koscielny fouled Agbonlahor, and Benteke steppedup to make no mistake with this time.
Arsenal's bid to get an equaliser suffered a body blow as Koscielny was given a red card, and Villa held firm when Guzan produced afine reflex save to tip Cazorla's effort onto the bar.
And for all of Arsenal's attempts tohit back, instead they conceded a third through debutant Antonio Luna after he was put through by Andreas Wiemann.
Liverpool had new goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to thank for their 1-0 win at home to Stoke City, as he saved a late penalty to deny thevisitors a point.
Daniel Sturridge scored the only goal of the game in the 37th-minute after drilling in a 22-yard effort beyond Asmir Begovic.
Mignolet struggled to deal with several Stoke crosses into the Liverpool area, and he nearly cost his new side as Robert Huth hit the bar with a header.
Jordon Henderson was thwarted by the post as Liverpool pushed for a second goal, and Begovic was forced into two excellent saves to keep out Philippe Coutinho.
Stoke looked as though they weregoing to claim a point under new manager Mark Hughes when they were awarded a spot-kick after Daniel Agger handled in the box. However, Mignolet ensured he would keep a clean sheet on his debut by saving from Jon Walters in the 88th-minute.
Joe Cole and Kevin Nolan gave West Ham a 2-0 win over last season's Championship winners, Cardiff City.
Matt Jarvis was the provider for Cole to open the scoring after 13 minutes as his low cross enabled Cole to spin and fire his shot at goal. Nolan then doubled the lead 14 minutes from the end when heblasted in his first-time shot beyond David Marshall.
Norwich and Everton played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Carrow Road. Norwich led through Steven Whittaker, but two goals in the space of four second-half minutes saw Everton turn the game around. First, Ross Barkley levelled with his first-ever Premier League goal before Seamus Coleman turned the gameon its head.
But the Canaries were not to be denied a point on their own turf as Ricky van Wolfswinkel marked his first game for the club with the leveller.
Rickie Lambert, who scored on hisEngland debut in midweek, converted a 91st-minute penalty to give Southampton a deserved 1-0 win over West Brom. And Pajtim Kasami bagged the only goal for Fulham as Martin Jol's men collected maximum points at a new-look Sunderland.

Is Gareth Bale Worth £105m?
When we talk of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, it is believed that no other player in the world is of the same calibre. But this past season, Gareth Bale at Tottenham has proved otherwise.
The Welshman has had an absolutely sensational 2012/13 campaign. He has not only been scoring a lot of goals, but has also developed his game in a variety of ways.
Bale joined Spurs in 2007 from Southampton for a fee of £7m.
The 2012/13 season began with Tottenham challenging for the Champions League spot. Bale proved to be extremely important in Spurs living up to their ability.
The Wales international has scored 26 goals and picked up eight assists in all competitions this season and has rightfully been named as the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year - and also the Football Writers’ Player of the Year.
It's going to take a word-record fee for Real Madrid to prise Gareth Bale away from Tottenham but is the winger really worth £100million?
Real Madrid think so. They think it would be money well spent but some analysts disagree with the Spanish giants.
What about you? Do you thinkBale is worth £85m. Yes or No?

Before I Write A Book (Part 2) - By Basketmouth
As I pay respect to those great men that changed my life, the seemingly little gestures that shaped me and have made me who I am... I recall another long evening...
Year 2000, Fame pre-award concert. Dele Olukoju and Wale Oluwaleimu were the stage/project managers. I had met Wale before then and he hadsuggested I come perform in my bid to build a name.
I went there with a friend of mine,we had spent the last kobo on us transporting ourselves andgetting food to eat as the event didn't start early enough.Continue...
My performance was done @ aboutmidnight. It was a great outing for me. As it was time to leave,I met with the show organisers hoping I'd be paid formy service or get a little change for transport. Unfortunately, communication had gone wrongsomehow as they thought I was doing the performance for free.
It dawned on me at that moment, that I was in trouble.
My friend and I then decided to just hang around as the concert was still on and our last hope was that we might get a free ride.
By2am, the concert was still banging in full swing and I was totally exhausted. While moving around I met Six Foot Plus and Terry D Rapman...now, I was a big fan of their work and so we got talking. It so happened that they loved my performance that evening so we hit it off immediately.
After some minutes of small talk, I swallowed my ego and pride and brought myself to ask Six Foot Plus for transport money, hedidn't have much on him but he split what he had and gave me N60 which was more than enough to cover our bus fare.
We happily bounced out from theconcert, confident. We approached the main road and as God will have it,there was a bus going our way. In 30mins we were in Yaba, walking to Railway Compound-Ebute Meta where I was staying.
By4amI lay in my little corner, the end of another successful day in my struggle for relevance, I was happy at my chance to perform.
Exhausted by my ordeal but mostimportantly, I was grateful for that rapper who shared all he had on him with me, my new friend and saving grace, Six foot Plus

ASUU Threatens To Cancel Post-UME Exams In Universities
Thousands of students whowrote the university-organised matriculation examinations, commonly called Post-UME, during university lecturers strike may have engaged in a futile exercise and may be forced to re-write the examination as lecturers complain they had no input in the exercise.
Speaking at a press conference called by the Ibadan Zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the Lagos State University, Ojo, the Zonal Coordinator, Adesola Nassir, said the leadership of the universities that have conducted the examination hurriedly did so because of the financial gains accruable from the candidates.
“It is an abnormality,” he said. “How can you hold such an important examination without the input of academic staff,” he asked.
“Vice-chancellors are employing non-academic staff and consultant to do Post-UME. They are doing it because of money. The exam already constitutes a crisis-point in the universities.”
Mr. Nassir said the “results from the examination may be jettisoned.”
After writing the government sanctioned Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), most individual universities in Nigeria require students to pass internally organised matriculation examinations called Post-UME.
In most cases, an average a student’s score from both examinations is considered before the student is granted admission. This arrangement started in 2005 over complaints aboutthe falling standard of UTMEby universities.
The Ibadan Zone of ASUU comprises University of Lagos (UNILAG), University of Ibadan (UI), Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Lagos State University (LASU), University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB), and Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)
